A New Year Mantle Makeover

Now that the holidays are over, time to strip down those mantels and remove that greenery and those reindeer stocking holders! The feeling of relief I get each year around this time is refreshing. Let’s face it, we all love the holidays but once they are over it is always nice to clean house and get back into a routine.

So, now that your mantel is back to bare, why not take the opportunity to revamp it and give it a new look.

1. Sometimes more is more. Stimulate your mantel with a mirror, a few pieces of art
layered in front of the mirror, candlesticks, a vase, and even books is always a cool
collected look.
2. Other times less is more. Perhaps a single piece of art and a statue or vase can
create big impact in a simple sophisticated way.
3. Why not paint the mantle wall in high gloss paint? A glass-like reflection is sure to
make a statement.
4. Take a risk! Paint the actual mantle something other than white. Why not a HOT PINK for example. (wink wink.) It’s a great way to revive your space.

Whatever you decide to do, just promise me this, go after it with confidence and take a chance with your ideas. You won’t be disappointed.
